Will Shatrughan Sinha join TMC?
Shatrughan Sinha, who joined the Congress, defecting from the BJP after being denied a ticket in the last Lok Sabha elections in 2019, is not ready to deny or confirm any such news. However, after Yashwant Sinha joined Mamata Banerjee’s party, there are reports that the actor-turned-politician might also follow his footsteps.
Shatrughan Sinha, a critic of Modi govt
A critic of the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shatrughan Sinha has always followed his heart and never compromised on his integrity.
When pressed, the Kaalicharan actor said, “How can I join, when I’m in some other party. But everybody knows my friendship with and affection for Mamata Banerjee.” The “Khamosh…” actor even spoke about the “conflict of emotional interest”. He said, “Definitely it is not a very easy solution.”
Shatrughan Sinha, who is a member of the Congress, can’t commit his friendship to Mamata, as the Congress, in alliance with the Left and the Indian Secular Front, is fighting the TMC in Bengal.
On Yashwant Sinha joining TMC
On Yashwant Sinha’s joining the Trinamool, the Shotgun Sinha said, “He is like an elder brother to me, a statesman. His move has been highly appreciated and everybody is congratulating him. His association is going to be a big plus to Mamata’s party. This seems to be a deadly political combination.”
“I’ve been a great supporter and admirer of Mamata Banerjee. How to go about it and everything, I need a week’s time,” he said. Does his “week’s time” mean that he has something up his sleeve which he is not yet ready to disclose?
Well, time will tell.
