March 8, 2021: It’s International Woman’s Day today, celebrated across the globe for the equality of rights for women in politics and society. The role of women in today’s world has changed significantly and for better. Women are now self-sufficient, well aware and financially independent.
For the first time in history, a day is celebrated as was celebrated in 1900. That makes this year the 120th anniversary of the day being celebrated. Initially, it marked the date when in the 19th century, women got the right to vote.
The date for Women’s day was different then. Now, however, March 8 has become an identifier of the global celebration of the day.
The role of women: Yatra tu narya pujyante, tatra devata ramante
Manusmriti says “Yatra tu narya pujyante, tatra devata ramante” which means that where the woman is worshipped, the Gods dwell there.
Women are respected in most cultures across the world but in India culture and traditions, women have always held a special place for centuries.
However, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, if we think clearly enough, then it is known that even after the respect that is given to women, it is divided into two parts. On one hand, stand oppressed, deprived and helpless illiterate women while on the other hand, stand the women on their way to success. In many cases, women touch newer heights than men.
The women shine with their success everywhere now and it’s time to celebrate the role of women in today’s world. Beyond the kitchen, in the household, they show top-notch performance in business, literature, politics, foreign affairs, police, aviation industry and even in the field of sports.
Women have governed many countries as their head and some even serve as the country’s head now.

The day of women: On the road to women empowerment
On International Women’s Day, such a wonderful feat by women brings utmost pride and joy. And on this day, we talk about one such thing, that has become the identity of the day. This talk is about ‘Women empowerment.’
This word is used by everyone but primarily women must recognise the power that resides in them. Empowerment comes from the hope and motivation a person carries. Have touched the heights of the sky known to human,
Yes! I am a woman.
Not one but I light up two homes even,
Yes! I am a woman.
A thousand sorrows buried in my heart yet my lips glisten,
Yes! I am a woman.
I am Kaali on the battlefield and Annapurna in the kitchen,
Yes! I am a woman.
I am the lover for my husband and yet the ‘mother’ to my children,
Yes! I am a woman.
And I lack no talent, yet I give it up for family, unspoken,
Yes! I am a woman.
Life of my friends yet mentor to a person,
Yes! I am a woman.
I make my dream come true with my determination

And even though I am soft myself,
For 9 months, I carry a little seed in me,
And water it with my blood in its haven,

आज अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस है। यह देश व दुनिया में महिलाओं के अधिकारों की समानता को लेकर राजनीतिक और सामाजिक स्तर पर मनाया जाता है। दुनिया में पहली बार इस तरह का कोई दिवस वर्ष 1900 में मनाया गया था। यानी आज हम इसके 120वें वर्ष के आयोजन में शामिल हो रहे हैं। शुरुआत में जब 19 सवी शताब्दी में इसकी शुरुआत की गई थी, तब महिलाओं ने मतदान का अधिकार प्राप्त किया था, पहले इसकी तारीख कुछ और थी, लेकिन अब 8 मार्च ही महिला दिवस की पहचान बन चुका है।
जहां स्त्रियों का सम्मान होता है वहां देवता रमण करते हैं, वैसे तो नारी को विश्वभर में सम्मान की दृष्टि से देखा जाता है किंतु भारतीय संस्कृति एवं परंपरा में देखें तो स्त्री का विशेष स्थान सदियों से रहा है। फिर भी अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर वर्तमान में यदि खुले मन से आकलन करें तो पाते हैं कि महिलाओं को मिले सम्मान के उपरांत भी ये दो भागों में विभक्त हैं। एक तरफ एकदम से दबी, कुचली, अशिक्षित और पिछड़ी महिलाएं हैं तो दूसरी तरफ प्रगति पथ पर अग्रसर महिलाएं। कई मामलों में तो पुरुषों से भी आगे नई ऊंचाइयां छूती महिलाएं हैं।
घर के चौके-चूल्हे से बाहर, व्यवसाय हो, साहित्य जगत हो, प्रशासनिक सेवा हो, विदेश सेवा हो, पुलिस विभाग हो या हवाई सेवा हो या फिर खेल का मैदान हो, महिलाओं ने सफलता का परचम हर जगह लहराया है। यहां तक कि महिलाएँ कई राष्ट्रों की राष्ट्राध्यक्ष भी रही हैं और कुछ तो वर्तमान में भी हैं।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिवस पर महिलाओं की यह सफलता निश्चित ही संतोष प्रदान करती है
आज के दिन अगर हम सबसे ज्यादा एक ऐसे विषय के बारे में बात करते जो महिला दिवस की पहचान बन चुका हैं।
यह विषय है महिला सशक्तीकरण। यह शब्द सबसे प्रयोग किया जाता है। सबसे पहले तो महिलाओं को स्वयं अपने भीतर की ताकत को पहचानना होगा। सशक्तीकरण हमारे अंदर की प्रेरणा से आता है। क्योंकि आज भले ही सब औरत की तारीफ करेगें पर कल से फिर वही बोलेंगे की तुम रहने दो तुमसे नहीं होगा क्योंकि तुम एक औरत हो…..

दिखाया हैं..
हाँ में एक औरत हू।
एक नहीं दो – दो घर को रोशन करती हूँ में,

दिल में हजार ग़म हो पर होंठों पे मुस्कान रख लेती हूं में,
हाँ में एक औरत हू।
जंग के मैदान में “काली” तो रसोई में “अन्नपूर्णा “हू में
हाँ में एक औरत हू।
पति के लिए प्रेयसी तो बच्चों के लिए ममता की मुरत हू में,

हुनर की कमी नहीं मुझमे फिर भी पारिवार के लिए उसे कुर्बान कर देती हूं में,
