Kannada film producer Ramu passes away due to Covid-19, Sandalwood in mourning

Sandalwood was shocked with the sad demise of Kannada film producer Ramu who succumbed to Covid-19. Ramu had been active in the film industry for nearly three decades and has made over 30 films in that period.

Bengaluru, April 27: Sad news for Kannada film industry.  On Monday evening, popular Kannada film producer Ramu succumbed to Covid-19 at a hospital in Bengaluru. He was 52.

Demise of Kannada film producer Ramu

Well-known Kannada film producer Ramu was being treated for symptoms related to Covid-19 at M S Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru, where he breathed his last. He was 52. After testing positive for Covid-19 last week, Ramu was admitted to the Bengaluru hospital for experiencing breathlessness.

Kannada film producer Ramu passes away, condolences pour in

Messages of condolences poured in from all quarters after Kannada producer Ramu passed away due to Covid-19 related complications. Several celebs took to social media to social media to pay tribute to the producer who made films like Lockup Death, AK47 and Kalasipalya.
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar took to Twitter to pay his respects to the producer whose career spanned nearly three decades.

Mourning Ramu, fellow Kannada producer BA Raju tweeted,  “Sandalwood got to witness a shocking news on Monday evening as noted Kannada film producer Ramu succumbed to Covid-19. He was being treated at M S Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru, where he breathed his last. Ramu was married to Kannada film star Malashree. They have two children.”

Celebrities remembered Ramu as one of the kindest and most soft-spoken individuals that they have come across in the Kannada film industry. Due to the current guidelines and restrictions because of the pandemic, none of them could pay their last visit to the producer.

Ramu’s Kannada film career

Ramu had been active in the film industry for nearly three decades and has made over 30 films in that period. He made his debut with the hit action Kannada film Golibar in 1993. Ramu has since made a lot of films with some of the reigning stars of the time through his career that spanned nearly 30 years.
His filmography includes some of the biggest cult hits of many actors which includes AK 47, Chamundi, Kiccha,Kalasipalya and Gulama. His last release in Kannada was the Ganesh and Bhavana starrer 99, which was the remake of the hit Tamil film 96.
His career also saw him team up with his wife Malashree for some of the most-loved action thrillers. Most of these films went on to become cult at the box office.
