The journey of Pitobash Tripathy: From Odisha’s Nayagarh to Bollywood

Pitobash Tripathy was honoured with the “National Bal Shree Award” from the President of India in the field of creative performance at the age of 12.

Pitobash Tripathy is an Indian film actor, who hails from Odisha, and has worked in many Bollywood films. He is known for his role in movies like I Am Kalam, Begum Jaan, Shor in the City and the Hollywood film Million Dollar Arm.

Boyhood days of Pitobash Tripathy

Pitobash was born in Deuli, Nayagarh, Odisha to an Odia Brahmin family.

He is the youngest among his three brothers and two sisters. His mother is a retired school teacher and his father worked for the agriculture department.

Pitobash was brought up in Bhubaneswar where he completed his schooling from Government High School, Unit 1, Bhubaneswar.

He joined Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar College, Bhubaneswar for his higher secondary education.

He has completed Bachelor of Technology degree in 2005 from Government College of Engineering & Leather Technology from Kolkata. He also holds his diploma in acting from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune which helped him a lot.

Pitobash was honoured with the “National Bal Shree Award” from the President of India in the field of creative performance at the age of 12.

He was also involved in theater in Kolkata in 2007. Later, he joined Bollywood as an actor.

Pitobash Tripathy and his journey to Bollywood

Pitobash started acting with the movie 99. He then appeared in a supporting role in 3 Idiots.

Later, he acted in I Am Kalam, directed by Nila Madhab Panda, and Shor in the City.

He also acted in the movie Mirch in five different roles. Additional appearances include the films Joker, Aalaap, Shanghai and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara!

Pitobash was awarded with Odisha Youth Inspiration Award in 2012, won the Screen Best Actor in a Comic Role Award for the movie Shor in the City (2012), nominated for Screen Promising Newcomer of the year for Shor in the City (2012),nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Shor in the City (2012), nominated for Stardust Best Actor (Search lights) Award for Shor in the City (2012) and nominated for Global Indian Film and Television Honours (GIFTH) Best Actor In A Supporting Role Award for Shor in the City in 2012.
