Sudden concussion, difficulty breathing, irregular heartbeat, pounding in your chest, ear or neck; yeah, it is high blood pressure. It is a known factor that high BP is a disease caused by a sedentary lifestyle. With the advent of innovation, technology, and advancement, we all are moving away from nature which is the root cause of high blood pressure. With little change in lifestyle and food habits, we can greatly control this.

Our bodies are always working to heal and to remain healthy. In most cases, the body sets its pace right in case it happens to feel any abnormality. Now the body’s self-healing process depends on each body type.  Accordingly, if you want to heal, you need to understand what part of your lifestyle is causing the disease, and then eventually change it. Once the cause is removed, the body is free to heal at its own pace without having to take a heavy dosage of medicine. However, before experimenting, or probably asking Google about your symptoms, get your blood pressure checked. Know the level of your problem and only then go ahead. These are a few natural remedies and lifestyle changes which one can adopt to effectively cure this issue naturally. Nonetheless, self-medication is never advisable. These are just a lead to a healthy heart and a healthy way of life.

Following lifestyle changes are highly recommended to get rid of high blood pressure or probably get it under prescribed levels:

Cutting the salt intake to get rid of high and low blood pressure

An age-old suggestion, both from doctors and self-medication experts, reducing salt intake can reduce the chances of risking your heart. A sodium deficit diet is key to a healthy heart. Search for low sodium alternatives for the food/beverages you would buy. Avoid processed and packed foods, because that is where the excess salt intake happens.

Avoid smoking or drinking alcohol for a perfect blood pressure

Needless to say, avoiding that cigarette and refusing that last Friday booze can take you a long way towards your healthy being. Not only does excessive levels of alcohol cause harm, but it also makes the medicines you have been taking, ineffective. Smoking, on the other hand, jeopardizes your health to a whole new level. Remember each puff is sucking away life from your heart, quite literally.

Take Lukewarm water always. Keep water in a copper vessel and take it morning

It is a proven fact that luke-warm water is effective to the human body in various ways. And consuming water from a copper vessel adds minerals required for the body.

Cut on your favorite coffee

Do not over consume tea or coffee excessively, instead consume homemade herbal tea (basil/tulsi, cinnamon, black pepper, ginger, mint leaves) or green tea. Sounds less exciting, but health benefits are endless. Try to make a trend with Haldi Latte next time, rather than Dalgona coffee. De-caffeinate your body and thank your body later.

Eat good, Sleep, Exercise- Repeat

Take enough rest and avoid exhaustion. Get adequate sleep for at least 7-8 hours. Go to sleep after 2 hrs of taking dinner. When you are sleeping keep your head either towards south or towards the east, as earth magnetic field having a direct connection with body energy. Sleep in between 11.00 PM to 3.00 AM, because that’s when our body is designed to restore maximum energy. Try to minimize stress. Exercise regularly for 30 minutes- yoga, aerobics, or even brisk walking. Turn on your favorite playlist and give your body the treat it actually needs.

Here are a few more tips handy to naturally keep your blood pressure level in check.

  • Consume a potassium-rich diet of fruits and vegetables. (banana, sweet potato, beetroot, broccoli, spinach or other leafy vegetables)
  • Include garlic in your diet which has antibiotic and antifungal property.
  • Including oatmeal in your diet can give sufficient energy to your body.

Alternative Medicine – Acupressure Therapy

Apart from lifestyle moderation, we have some ancient therapy which can have great help in controlling high blood pressure. Acupressure is an olden healing therapy that uses the fingers or tools to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural therapeutic abilities.

How Acupressure works in controlling blood pressure?

Acupressure points (also called potent points) are placed on the skin that is especially sensitive to bioelectrical impulses in the body and conducts those impulses readily. A little science lesson – energy is constantly flowing in the human body along defined pathways known as meridians. The disease occurs if this energy flow becomes excess or deficient, gets impeded or counter-flows due to various external or internal factors. Pressing the potent points releases the blockages of this flow or regulates the same and disease is cured.

How to apply pressure?

There are three levels of healing with deep breathing – light touch, feel the pulse, then medium and then deep.

Time period 1-3 minute. You have to stimulate these points twice or thrice a day.

Colour Therapy

Colour therapy to treat Blood Pressure is also another fascinating method. Applying blue color by using watercolor or marker pen beneath the thumbnail on both the thumbs can have a great effect on controlling high blood pressure.

Mudra

Mudra also helps in regulating Blood Pressure. By touching together of the tips of the fingers free energy (Prana) which are free energy discharge points is redirected back into the body along specified channels, back up to the brain. Mudras are like literal remote-control switches bringing quick and effective changes. Fig. 10 is called Apan Bayu Mudra, Fig. 11 is called Meo Mudra and Fig.12 is called Vyan Mudra. You should sit with Spine straight and with this hand gesture for about 30 to 45 min in one go or around 10-15 min each. You can do this while you are watching TV or listening to music.

Another quick solution, when having sudden high pressure, one should pump your both ear with your fingers 50 times or you can put marble at point K1 as shown in fig-3 and press your leg over it. This will reduce pressure instantly.

However, it is not advisable that this can be used as a substitute for medication. As suggested earlier, changes in lifestyle can effectively help control pressure, nevertheless, it should be under a doctor’s advice. It is quite close to a warning that, do not rely on Google or the internet for curing your problems. Have a healthy mind and a healthy body.
