Bhubaneswar, April 21: Let’s stay with the thought that “We all are mothers”. Above all identities that ever exist, to be addressed as a mother is a highly heartening and loving experience. Let’s trust it.
Motherhood is the best feeling
Yes, as long as we are able to create and nurture something, we are celebrating motherhood. Be it a new life, an idea, a product, a relationship or an organisation they all need a mother for their survival. Motherhood, hence, is that trusted warm private space which holds the string of growth and wellbeing. The space which ensures the seed to germinate by itself while gracefully holding the other basic elements together almost as a witness. It’s always present, whether one notices or not. So, potentially we, all living beings, are mothers.
Then, who is the divine mother? Does it mean, all of us are less divine? This answer rests in the felt sense of what we have nurtured. There is no right or wrong answer. Because, the reply would just be the reflection of what it feels.
The divine mother is simply a conscious experience and expression of our felt senses. Whether we are believers or non-believers in any tradition of worship, we cannot ignore the living organism we all reside in. If we attempt to experience this most logical and sophisticated mechanism, feelings are the escorts in this journey. (Of course followed by all cognitive processes). And we need to believe our feelings. Once we trust that we all have feelings and notice that they are helping us experiencing ourselves, we could start accepting them as ours. By accepting our feelings, we get connected to our inner being.
In Tantrokta Devi Sukta, the divine mother is described literally as “She, known as consciousness, who resides in all living beings in the form of wisdom, hunger, sleep, energy, thirst, forgiveness, embarrassment, peace, affection, elegance, resourceful/richness, memory, kindness, satisfaction, mother, confusion and power which rules all senses, we bow down before Her again and again.” She is hunger, she is kindness, she is also confusion. This embodiment of emotions transforms all humans into mothers. All feelings are divine and within us.
Of mothers, trust & more
Allowing ourselves to get in touch with all the above feelings would pave the way for being more alive to our senses. Being more present and alive in this moment would expand our capacity in all dimensions. It would enable us to experience the feelings without any judgement. We would have more, learn more, give more and nurture more. More to the motherhood, that exists in all of us. As mothers, if we could trust, care for and nurture our feelings, we by default are mothering ourselves. Let me be a mother to myself. Let me be the child. Let me answer “how does it feel to have a divine mother?”.
