Kolkata, March 18: When West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee released TMC manifesto, she said it is not a political manifesto but a “development-oriented” manifesto which has been framed to build a strong Bengal. She listed 10 “Ongikars” and said if her government is elected for the third term in the state, she will build a “stronger and more prosperous Bengal.”

Mamata Banerjee released TMC manifesto after conducting an election rally in Jhargram. However, she said she would not like to call it a “political manifesto”. “This is a development-oriented manifesto, which is of the people, for the people, and by the people,” she said.
She said one of the main focuses of the TMC government in the next term would be to create 5 lakh jobs every year.
“Focus will be on making Bengal India’s fifth-largest economy by creating 5 lakh new jobs every year,” she said.
The manifesto also stated that the female heads of 1.6 crore households in the state will be eligible for monthly Basic Income Support.
The general category families will get a monthly cash transfer of Rs 500 and every SC/ST family will receive Rs 1,000 every month. The TMC government will provide credit card facilities of Rs 10 lakh at 4 per cent interest to students interested in higher studies.

Mamata Banerjee released TMC manifesto and announced that there will be an increase in annual financial aid of farmers from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 if she returns as the chief minister of Bengal yet again. A special task force will be formed to examine and propose OBC status to all communities that are not recognized. Mamata also said that if her government returns to power in Bengal, then everybody will get ration delivered to their doorstep.
During the launch of the TMC manifesto, Mamata said, “All the Ongikars are my personal commitment and I promise to deliver them to the people of West Bengal.”
She also said she has just one aim. “My one aim is to sustain Bengal as one of the leading states in the country,” said Mamata.
“I humbly present my 10 ‘Ongikars’ to build a stronger & more prosperous Bengal so that the wheels of development keep moving forward in the third term of our government. The aim is just one, to sustain Bengal as one of the leading states in the country. The 10 ‘Ongikars’ will form the foundation of our governance and will be the roadmap for the next five years. Focus will be on making Bengal India’s fifth-largest economy by creating 5 lakh new jobs every year. For the first time, female heads of 1.6 Cr households will benefit from a monthly Basic Income Support scheme, students will be able to take loans upto ₹10 Lakh using Student Credit Card at 4% interest rate only. Additionally, we are going to provide ₹10,000 per acre per annum to all small and marginal farmers. All 10 ‘Ongikars’ are my personal commitment and I promise to deliver them to the people of Bengal,” posted Mamata on her official social media account.
