India Post Recruitment 2021 – details you need to know

Check out the details of India Post Recruitment 2021 here. India Post has recently issued a notification for recruitment in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Delhi circles for recruitment to 3,679 vacant posts.

February 4, 2021: India Post Office has released several notifications for recruitment of around 3,679 vacant posts in Andhra Pradesh (AP), Telangana and Delhi circles, the most recent of which to fill the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the AP circle. The process for Gramin Dak Sevak Recruitment 2021 for AP Post Office, Delhi Post Office, and Telangana Post Office started on January 27.

2296 positions belong to AP GDS Recruitment 2021, while 233 are for the Delhi GDS Recruitment 2021 and 1150 for Telangana GDS Recruitment 2021, taking the total to 3,679 posts.

Interested candidates with the eligible qualification have been instructed to apply for the positions on or before February 26.

Various vacancies open are for the job profiles of –

1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)

The Job Profile of Branch Post Master will include managing affairs of Branch Post Office, India Posts Payments Bank (IPPB), and ensuring uninterrupted counter operation during the prescribed working hours using the handheld device/smartphone/laptop supplied by the department.

2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)

The job profile of Assistant Branch Post Master will include all functions of sale of stamps/stationery, conveyance, and delivery of mail at doorstep deposits/payments/other transactions under IPPB, assisting branch postmasters in counter duties using the handheld device/Smartphone supplied by the department.

3. Dak Sevak

The job profile of Dak Sevaks will include all functions of viz sale of stamps and stationery, conveyance and delivery of mail, and any other duties assigned by Postmaster/Sub Postmaster including IPPB work in the Departmental Post Offices/RMS.

The age limit for the posts is stated as-

The minimum and maximum age for the purpose of engagement to GDS posts shall be 18 and 40 years respectively as of January 27 – the date of notification of the vacancies. There is age relaxation for reserved categories as per government norm, however, there will be no age relaxation for EWS Category.

Pay Scale Details:

Educational Qualification criteria for India Post Recruitment 2021

  • Senior Secondary pass certificate – The candidates must have Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in mathematics, local language and english (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.
  • Compulsory knowledge of local language: The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard (as compulsory or elective subjects) as declared by the state government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India.
  • Basic computer training: The candidates for all approved categories of GDS referred to in (i) above will be required to furnish Basic Computer Training Course Certificate of at least 60 days duration from any computer training institute run by central government/state government /universities / boards / private institutions organizations.

This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate can be relaxed in cases where a candidate has studied computer as a subject in matriculation or class XII or any other higher educational level and in such cases, a separate certificate will not be insisted upon.

Selection Procedure details-

The interested candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list.

How to Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment 2021?

1. Interested candidates can apply for the said posts online mode through visiting the official website.

2. The candidates should initially register in the Registration module and obtain their unique registration number.

3. The candidates belonging to UR/OBC/EWS Male/Trans-man categories need to make the fee payments. In case of the online payment, if no confirmation is received after the deduction of the amount from the candidate’s bank account, they can wait for up to 72 hours for settlement. Offline payments can also be made at any Head Post Office.

4. They can also apply online, then fill the application, upload documents and submit post preferences.

5. The candidates should preview and take a print out for future reference.

Application Fee for India Post Recruitment 2021 –

The candidates belonging to UR/OBC/EWS male/transman need to pay Rs 100, while those belonging to SC/ST/female/transwoman/ PWD category need not pay any fee.
