Kahaani (2012)

Kahaani recounts the tale of a pregnant woman who sets out to locate her missing husband in the city of Kolkata with the help of a police officer.

CID (1956)

CID is the story that revolves around a C.I.D. inspector who finds himself caught in a web of lies and deceit.

Manorama Six feet Under (2007)

The story of Manorama Six Feet Under story revolves around a writer who is asked to impersonate the protagonist of his novel, in order to solve a case.

Lead role – Abhay Deol as Satyaveer Randhawa, Raima Sen as Sheetal.

Special 26 – Special Chabbis (2013)

The Special 26 is a fact-based crime drama, a gang of con artists posing as government officials execute a heist in form of a raid on a prominent jeweller.

Lead role – Anupam Kher as P.K. Sharma, Akshay Kumar as Ajay Singh, Manoj Bajpayee as C.B.I. officer Waseem Vardhan.

Baby (2015), one of the most interesting detective Hindi movies

Baby is based on the terrific story of an undercover task-force that is given the responsibility for averting terrorist threats before they happen.

Lead roles – Akshay Kumar as Ajay Singh Rajput, Madhurima Tuli as Anjali Singh Rajput and Rana Daggubati as Jai Singh Rathore.

Ugly (2014)

Ugly weaves the story of a kidnapped girl and the inspector who is bent on finding her. An ugly story of greed, betrayal, and deceit.

Lead roles – Tejaswini Kolhapure as Shalini Bose, Rahul Bhat as Rahul, Ronit Roy as Police Chief Bose, Surveen Chawla as Rakhee.

Gupt – The Hidden Truth (1997)

This film narrates the story of a young man who is wrongly accused of murder (for murdering his step-father) where the young man resolves to find the real murderer to prove his innocence, leading to a classic ‘who is the killer?’ A tale of love, passion and revenge.

Lead roles – Bobby Deol as Sahil Sinha, Kajol as Isha diwan and Manisha Koirala as Sheetal Choudhary.

Talvaar (2015)

Talvaar is a fictional dramatization of true-life events revolving around the Arushi Talwar murder case investigation. A hardened investigator deals with conflicting perspectives involving a brutal double murder. The case gets complicated when the parents of the murdered girl emerge as the prime suspects.

Lead roles – Irrfan khan as Ashwin Kumar, Konkona Sen Sharma as Nutan Tandon and Neeraj Kabi as Ramesh Tandon.

Rahasya (2015)

The film’s story centres on a couple whose only child, a teenage girl, has been murdered in her sleep inside their large duplex apartment. The film attempts to resolve about this brutal murder are who did it? Why and how?

Lead roles – Kay Kay Menon as CBI officer Sunil Paraskar, Ashish Vidyarthi as Dr. Sachin Mahajan and Tisca Chopra as Dr. Aarti Mahajan.

Talaash – The answer lies within (2012)

Talaash is a tale of love lost, fatal attraction and above all the quest to solve a perfect crime (death of a well-known actor) by a police officer while dealing with the death of his own son. Suspense at its core, it explores Mumbai’s underbelly like never before.
