Dissent in BJP in Bengal

The dissent in BJP after the party announced the candidate list for the Bengal Assembly polls increased in the past few days. The protests by party workers at Kolkata’s Hastings office and at other districts against the BJP’s choice of candidates, has led the party’s national leaders Amit Shah and national president JP Nadda convene a meet with their state counterparts in the national capital on Tuesday evening.

Fresh incident at BJP Hastings office could be seen when cadres from several districts tried to break open the back gate of the election office for giving tickets to ‘turncoat’ leaders.

Dissent in BJP, hardwork overlooked alleged party workers

The main grouse of the party workers has been the choice of candidates for the upcoming election in Bengal.

They alleged that some of the candidates have been given tickets, who have criminal records against them.

The state leaders have overlooked many dedicated party workers, who have been toiling for the party for the last 10-15 years.

Party insiders also feel that the lack of crowd at many of the venues could also be the topic of discussion at the late-night meeting.

Protests have been pouring in from Canning, Kulpi, Mograhat and many other areas of south 24-Parganas in Bengal.

The protestors vent their ire on Mukul Roy and Dilip Ghosh for the wrong choice of candidates.

Protest outside Kolkata office

Since 5am on Tuesday, BJP dissenters could were seen camping in front of their office in Hastings.

The motley crowd of party members demanded immediate resolution of their anger or they are prepared for a longer agitation at the venue. They threatened to post candidates of their own choice as Independents.

Meanwhile, the BJP sources also confirmed that candidate list for the remaining four phases will be declared in the ongoing week.
