Home Remedies for dandruff free hair

Dandruff is considered to be one of the most common scalp disorders. The disorder peculiarly characterized by the accumulation of dead skin cells on the scalp which look like white flakes.

Ayurveda is supposed to provide easy and home-made remedies to many of the common day ailments one faces. They are also supposed to have negligible or no side effects when used properly and with care.

Dandruff is considered to be one of the most common scalp disorders. The disorder peculiarly characterized by the accumulation of dead skin cells on the scalp which look like white flakes. This formation flaky layer of dead cells makes it difficult for your hair to breathe freely. This leads to the weakening of hair, thus leaving them more susceptible to fall out.

 Added to this, these white flaky scales can fall on your shoulders, eyebrows, and even clothes when you comb or scratch your scalp making it not so pleasant to see on. They can further cause acne to those with oily skin.

Dandruff can be caused by a number of factors, such as frequent heat or cold exposure, excessive exposure to hair styling products, chronic constipation, stress, fatigue, or pollution.

Although there are many shampoos and hair improving substances that claim of clearing white flakes of dandruff, most are not able to do so.

Here is a list of Ayurvedic home-made treatments that one can adopt to get rid of dandruff.

Using camphor with coconut oil

Coconut oil has been known for its many hair benefits for time immemorial. It helps in the growth of hair and to strengthens hair strands by increasing their thickness. It also helps to reduce protein loss in hair. Coconut oil is high in lauric acid, which is why it can penetrate through the hair shaft and strengthen it from within. In addition to this, it helps get rid of dandruff when combined with camphor.

Using coconut oil with lemon

Lemon can help you in most hair care remedies. Vitamin C and flavonoids it can help fight dandruff. When mixed with warm coconut oil and applied to roots of hair it serves the purpose of getting rid of dandruff.

Using curd with gram flour

The powdery and coarse texture of gram flour helps in cleansing the scalp and getting rid of white dandruff flakes. The additional application of curd can make your hair shiny.

Using curd with lemon

Additional of lemon to a bowl of curd and its regular and proper application on scalp can help fight dandruff and give your healthy and shiny hair.

Using shikakai concoction

Shikakai is considered to be popular Ayurvedic herb that fights dandruff. Adding it to water and using it overnight can help you get rid of dandruff quickly.

Using neem leaves with lemon

Neem leaves can help fight dandruff owing to their antioxidant, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Add juice of lemon to a bowl of crushed leaves of neem and apply it to get rid of dandruff.

Using hot oil massage

According to Ayurveda one should heat up any oil before applying it to your hair and scalp. This warming helps it to penetrate deeper into the roots and thus help moisturise the scalp better. This helps reduce the dandruff on head.

Using almond oil with olive oil

One should use a mixture, made by equal parts of both almond and olive oil to curb the growth of dandruff. Warm the mixture before applying it for better results and smoother hair.

Using vinegar ayurvedic remedy

According to some studies using vinegar mixed in warm water, with the help of cotton dab on your scalp can help you get rid of white flakes of dandruff.

Using mint leaves with apple cider vinegar

According to some claims both mint leaves and apple cider vinegar help fight dandruff. Add apple cider vinegar to a cup of boiled water. Add some crushed mint leaves to this mixture. Once the mixture cools, apply it on your scalp to do away with dandruff.

With proper, careful, and regular use of the above-mentioned procedures, one can get smooth, shiny, long, and dandruff free hair at home only.
