Mumbai, May 11, 2021: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan shares his charitable efforts he has done to help the country in its fight against Covid-19. He said he finds it ‘embarrassing’ to speak publicly about his charitable work but he wanted to shut down the ‘everyday abuse’.

On Monday, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan shares his charitable efforts he has extended during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Reacting to negative comments and trolls who have been rebuking him and other celebrities over their donations and contributions, Big B took to his blog to talk about how he has come to the aid of several lives distressed by the coronavirus pandemic.
In his blog, he was seen addressing all the array of disrespectful and negative comments that most celebrities and actors are usually subjected to. And that is done with the regard to their charitable efforts during this COVID-19 global pandemic and also during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in our country.
Amitabh shared in his blog that he finds it really “embarrassing” to announce publicly about all his charitable works. He said that “every day abuse and the filth of distasteful comments” is something which he and his entire family have been subjected to “since time immemorial”.

Amitabh Bachchan shares his charitable efforts and replied to the trolls, who had commented on his blog, “I am sure your wallet will be filled with immense love and blessings! Lead by example. Instruction is good but example is worth more!”
He then said he had saved farmers from suicide. “Over a 1500 farmers bank loans paid off by my personal fund and prevented them from suicide. ” And all those who could not be present for the formalities were transported by train, ” all at (Amitabh’s) expense “.

Amitabh Bachchan had also shared that he had provided ” food for over 400,000 daily wage earners in the country for a month .. feeding almost 5000 in the city each day lunch and dinner ” as well as ” provided masks, PPE units to front line warriors, Police Hospitals in the thousands .. through personal funds. “
He wrote in his blog that for the stranded migrant workers, he had “booked 30 buses to locations in UP and Bihar and supplied them food and water for the overnight travel and also provided footwear to those who didn’t have any”.
Then he continued on his blog that he had “Booked an entire train from Mumbai to UP to carry 2800 migrant passengers free of cost at my expense .. and when the destination State blocked the train from coming into their State and cancelled the train .. immediately chartered 3 Indigo Airline planes and flew almost 180 migrants in each flight to UP and Bihar and some to Rajasthan and J&K ..”
Amitabh then went ahead and shared publicly that he has arranged for 20 ventilators for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation as well and has also donated towards a facility that was actually set up in the Rakabganj Sahib Gurudwara.
He wrote that he had “Donated an entire Diagnostic Centre .. opened at Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi through the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee” and that he has “adopted” two children who lost both of their parents to the global pandemic of COVID-19.
He also shared that he would be financing the education of those two orphan children till their 10th grades.
And lastly he concluded that by writing and sharing all his charitable efforts publicly, was not “ aggrandisement” but something which must be emulated surely.
Amitabh made headlines after he responded to a woman who said she “totally lost respect for him”.
When he was hospitalized, Amitabh had blogged a response to the trolls, a part of which read, “May you burn in your own stew”.
